The documentation seems to indicate that source code is included, but it doesn't seem to be installed.

The documentation will be installed to your "Public Documents" folder:
Windows VISTA,
Windows 7 or newer
C:\Users\Public\Documents\NShape\NShape Source
Windows XP
C:\Documents and Settings\All users\Common files\NShape\NShape Source
Furthermore, there should a link in your Windows Start menu pointing to the source code files:
All Programs / dataweb / NShape / NShape Source Files
Best Regards,
Kurt

I think "Public Documents" (\Users\Public\Document) is a very unusual place, isn't it?

As far as I know, it's the recommended location for "per-machine" setups since Windows VISTA due to the fact that the application's folder is protected by the OS and the user's personal documents are not accessible by other users.

Thanks, Kurt, you are correct. It is in C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\NShape on my Windows 7 box.
